What is Signal Centre?

Signal Centre is a platform that provides unbiased professional analysis and trade ideas for multiple asset classes using a technical analysis based trading methodology.

What is a trade idea/signal?

A trade idea consists of an entry level, target level and stop level. Our experts analyse markets in order to formulate intraday and short term signals. The ideas are the views of Signal Centre staff only and do not consider individual circumstances or affordability to trade products.

What time should I expect to receive the signals?

We operate intraday signals for three time-frames and trades are published prior to these sessions. UK & European ideas are published between 06:00 hrs & 08:00 hrs. US ideas are published between 12:00 hrs & 14:30 hrs. APAC ideas are published between 16:00 hrs & 19:00 hrs. (All times quoted are UK time)

How are the signals formulated?

Signal Centre employs experienced and fully qualified technical analysts who use their skill and expertise to formulate good risk/reward trade ideas. Each signal provides detail on the rationale for the trade, allowing users to develop a better understanding of technical analysis and its uses. Each idea is analysed on an individual market basis and no cross-market consideration is made, unless specifically stated.

How to trade Signal Centre signals?

All ideas consist of an entry/open/trigger level, stop (loss) level and target (profit) levels.

For our intraday trade ideas, the majority of our open intraday trade ideas are closed at 21:00 UK time. Open APAC trade ideas are closed at 16:00 UK time the following day. For our short term trade ideas, these are generally closed at target or stop level.

Action – Buy or Sell

Entry/Open/Trigger – This is the level or levels which we consider to be a level to open a trade.

Stop – This is the level at which the trade should be closed and a loss realised.

Targets – This is the level or levels at which the trade should be exited and profit realised.

Closed – For performance of our trade ides/signals, we set a pre-determined time expiry which is recorded as the level at which the trade is closed and the profit/loss realised.

How is performance measured?

We measure our performance using ‘R’ as we feel this is an honest and fair way of displaying our returns. ‘R’ represents ‘Risk’ and it measures the distance between the entry point of your trade and your stop loss order. ‘R’ is simply the amount of money risked on each trade. Our clients can get a clearer picture of how we are performing and can apply these trades to their own risk tolerance.

Do you publish performance?

We provide a limited history of performance on our website, which you can find here.

What is your definition of ‘Short Term’?

Trade duration has a different meaning depending on who you ask. At Signal Centre we class any trade with an expected duration of 1 day to 1 month as ‘Short term’. ‘Medium term’ we class as any trade with an expected duration of 1 month to 3 months and ‘Long Term’ we class as any trade with an expected duration of 3 months and beyond as ‘Long term’.

I am unsure on some of the terminology used?

See Glossary of Terms.

I disagree with a trade idea

Differing opinions are what make a market. Each trader/analyst interprets information differently. There is no obligation to follow our ideas. We provide unbiased opinions on markets and just call it how we see it at any given time.
